OK... I am again humbly asking for help.... I need a 14 second sound clip of the beginning of star wars for a slideshow movie.... I am learning as I go here... I do not have the means (that I am aware of anyway) to edit sound bites ... can someone send me one, please?... or help me figure out how to do it?

One of the more popular, and free, sound editors available is Audacity. The learning curve for the basic functions isn't that hard. But like any other piece of software there is some learning involved.

It also has the ability to record any sound coming out of your speakers so if you were to find the music you need on a youtube video for example, you would be able to record it without a lot of fuss and then edit it right in Audacity.

Note, it does require a LAME dll for recording and playing mp3 files but instructions for a free LAME encoder are on the website.

Click the link to go there.
