Hi,
Let's say I have an image with filters: square.cfx applied to turn it into a grid.
If I want to go further and apply filter: distortion.cfx to make the grid glitch I can only do it by adding distortion post processing to the camera.
I would love to be able to put the image (or whatever else) into a container and then apply the distortion filter to that leaving the camera (and anything outside the container) glitch free.
So 6 items in a container, for example, could be hit with just one distortion fx while items outside it remain glitch free.
I know I could render the picture + glitch to a video, create a new show and import the video but I then lose ability to edit picture/grid settings "on the fly".
Technically it is not possible to use the output of any effect as the input of any other effect. But it does work with filter effects (that only update the texture). Applying a filter effect to the camera layer does exactly that.
If using the main camera is not practical, you could use a colourmap layer and apply the post processing effect to the camera layer of the colourmap layer.

Hi Michael,
I did try expermenting with the colormap but didn't have much luck, will give it another go.
Are you saying a colormap layer can have a camera totally different to the main camera?
Have you ever played with Zgame Visualiser in FL studio (DAW)? That gives you the option to send output of one layer to a buffer layer and the buffer layer can then be used/mixed in with other layers before eventually all layers end up in the final output layer and post processing fx can be done on that final as with Bluff.

Yes, a colourmap layer has its own camera layer. It's automatically added when you choose LAYER > ADD LAYER > ADD COLOURMAP LAYER, together with a light and a text layer. Without those, there's not much to be seen.
A more technical term is "render to texture". The "buffer layer" of Zgame Visualiser is probably the same idea, only with yet another name.

Cool. Just messed with the Colormaplesson2 file and was able to make the purple plasma screen glitch by putting the distortion on it's camera. Looks like that is the way to go.

After a bit of further tweaking to Colormaplesson2 I have what I wanted to do now. Thanks
