BT is reasonably easy to use when you get the hang of it (ie the penny has dropped) but the programme is so feature rich that ordinary blokes like me will never get the handle on all its possibilities. It would be great to have tutorials on how to get various effects. For example i have tried dozens of times ( I tend to exaggerate!) to re-create the effect in one of the preset shows that has the text passing through an "O" in another text word. Its very clever and i have not mastered it yet.
I would also like to know how to create some of the fonts from scratch. I am fairly sure that if i was given a few examples the "penny would drop" and i would be able to continue from there to create my own.

Perhaps creating in BT is an "art" not a "technique" ? If so I am destined to remain stuck on "level 1" forever

I wouldn't worry about re-creating it, just open the sample show and examine which layers are there and how each is keyframed. Eventually you will understand each layer. That is why they are included, so you and I can learn from them.

Here's a link to an article explaining the "text passing through an O" effect

brido, I am not an artist either, in fact I was hoping to find some people in the forum to help in that department..but...that said, I have found that constant 'playing' with it will usually yield results. I love the ability to import .avi files, and make them do some really strange things !

I think particularly using the particle layer is more like an art than a technique. Although I completely understand the purpose of all the properties I often find myself brainlessly trying different settings just for the fun to see what the effect will be. And most of the time I end up with a far better effect than I was hoping for!
