Ok i have just soent a few hours trying to find out how this is done, and all i keep coming up with is posts that are 10 years old, and not relevant to the latest.
What i want to be able to do is have a video, instead of picture and all the posts send to the user guide where it doesnt match up with the lateest version.
Pressing F9 doesnt have a video option. So when in add a video layer i get the fideo in an "activemovie window, and no matter how i export it, i just get a black screen with text.
So its simple i need to know how i can have a video in a layer that shows up in the export.
You must be missing a codec.
The K-Lite Codec Pack offers a huge collection of codecs. With this pack, BluffTitler can play MP4, WebM, MOV and M4A files:

Instead of using the video layer, you could also export your title with transparency info and do the mixing in your NLE.
This is the preferred way, especially when your video is much longer than your title:

it plays the video in the outside box when i select play and as far as i know all codecs that i need are installed.
Why does it need to open it in an external box?

It plays your video in an outside box because you are missing a codec. There's nothing mysterious about this. It is a well known problem and the fix is easy.

Yes, that's exactly what is happening. No enigma here. It is a fully understood problem and the fix is easy!

i'm pretty new to this stuff, covid has thrown me inthe deepend of video editing etc.. So learnt somethng new today. I did have a couple of codecs missing, sorted and it works as i expected it to.
I didnt know what was normal and what wasnt with the software until you told me. I thought that maybe it got mixed during rendering.
So i can now do it with premiere pro as saving it as uncompressed avi etc. and now as i wanted within the program.
Thank for your quick responce, thats what i call good customer srevice 2020.
